FAQ

1. Where is the school located?

You will find us at 104, av Victor Hugo, in the annex building in the backyard.
Your second space is at 85, av Pasteur, also in Limpertsberg.

2. Are the school's classes open to both children and adults?

Helen's Dance offers dance and fitness classes for all levels and ages and is therefore open to children from the age of 3 as well as to adults.
Please check our schedule to find out what is suitable for you.
Parental permission is required when minors are enrolled in classes.

3. Is it possible to take a course when I am 71 years old?

Of course it is. Learning to dance and exercising, developing coordination and concentration are factors in the development and maintenance of movement memory and psychomotor skills for young and old alike.

4. How do I know if a course is right for me?

Each course is marked with a level of difficulty or age for children. In general, courses start with a beginner's class and progress as the students learn.

5. Do I need to have any special physical qualities to dance?

Absolutely not. It is enough to not suffer from any disabling pathology (feet, back, knees, shoulder...)

6. How is a course composed?

The classes are composed of 5 steps.
(warm-up, postural work, muscle strengthening, stretching, choreography)

7. What music is used in the dance?

The choice of music depends entirely on the class and the teacher. The range of music used is very wide and can include classical music, modern rhythms and world music. The diversity of tempi, melodies and rhythms allows for the best possible accompaniment of the movement in its multiple journeys.

8. Is it possible to park in front of the school?

Avenue Victor Hugo, Avenue Pasteur and the adjacent streets offer normal parking facilities.

9. What should I wear to class?

In general, for all fitness, jazz and contemporary classes, we advise to wear comfortable clothes that allow ample movement.
You can find information about the dance clothing worn by our young students on our website. https://www.athelensdance.lu/fr/info/
It is recommended not to wear watches, large earrings or other valuable jewellry during the classes.

10. Can I buy dance clothes or shoes at the school?

Our partner for all dance clothes is located in Canach 8a, rue d'Oetrange L-5411. The shop "Dancer's Corner" offers a good choice of dance clothes and is familiar with the leotards worn by our young students in ballet and jazz classes.

11. What should I wear for my first class?

It is not necessary to have the correct dance wear for the beginning of the semester. A pair of leggings, a t-shirt and good socks will be sufficient for the first trial class.

12. Can I take a free trial class?

Students who do not know the school or the teachers will have to pay €25 for the first lesson, which can be deducted from the final enrolment fee. To finalise enrolment, payment must be made from the second lesson onwards, i.e. at the beginning of each term.

13. How can I pay?

Please register for a course via our online inscription form. You will receive a confirmation letter with our payment conditions attached.

Payment:

  • per unit 25€ or
  • continue by the unit or
  • pay the additional amount of the desired package

Classes not taken are neither refundable nor transferable. They remain the property of the student and can be taken back during the current semester.

14. Can I register at any time during the year?

Yes, enrolments are possible throughout the year as long as the course is adapted to your level and there are still places available in the course.
Payment for enrolment during the year will be made on a pro-rata basis for the semester.

15. How can I withdraw from the course?

To end the course, please send an email to hedance@pt.lu.
